Tent People and Families

Homeless Ministry at Fullerville Mission. We have been helping what most people would call homeless people for more than 3 decades. You may think because someone does not live in a house, they are homeless. This is not true. A person living in the woods in a tent or under a make-shift tarp shelter is not homeless that is their home. We have talked with them and this is their way of living in today’s world. Most get a check, food stamps, and other ways to survive from day to day. There’s no difference in the way they live than a person living in a tiny home, camper, or their parent’s basement. You could say these people are homeless also. God has led us to help them with everyday needs they may have. We have clothes, food, personal hygiene, and other items available 5 days a week. Running Water ministry is available all week which allows them to take a shower. Every Tuesday night a home-cooked meal is served. We offer this type of help to them so we can become friends and show them the love that Jesus has for them. Throughout the years we have seen some get back with their families, and even live what people call a normal life by having a wood or brick-built home. Some of them have lost their legal identification, and we have helped them with the process of getting a Georgia Id, driver’s license, social security card, and birth certificate. That is the beginning of them trying to get a job or income to help with their basic needs. Until that is done, we help with their daily needs as God supplies. We have met some wonderful and true-to-life people with this ministry.

The new true homeless people or families that may have been living in a home and become homeless because they were renting a home and the landlord sold the home, we offer free housing for a short period of time.

The Homeless Ministry is not set up to enable them to stay homeless, but to meet their daily needs. Helping with the basic needs allows them to feel better about themselves.

Matthew 24:42-45

42 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:

43 I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.

44 Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?

45 Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.
